Anyone ever make rim conversions for these saws? I was thinking I could possibly make one out of two. machine out the middle and weld in another off a different drum that takes a rim drive??

Next door neighbor running his 166.

Will its been some time ago and I dont remember exactly but I think the crank was like 18mm so even if you bored the drum you would have a really thin drum and still no room for a bearing.

It wouldnt even be so bad if you could find a .404 x 7 spur but I have had no luck and not even sure if they were even ever made. I know that .404x8 is not so good on it.

Ahhh, What about finding a drum that has the right ID for your saw that takes a rim, and cuting out the existing spur on a lathe, and welding in the rim center, I could do it for ya, since I have a s6000 as well that I could convert.

Did you manage to buy that rim kit on Ebay, Will???

I got one for my 6000S awhile back.....As you probably saw, the Oregon # for the kit is 27193

No I didn't, just trying to think about the Stihls right now. Got to get the ones fixed that I'm going to sell to recoup some cash, then work on the ones I'm keeping.

Will your "S" 6000 is a 153 and should be good to go on useing a rim sprocket. The 152 is the trouble as far as I'm concerned and at this point is not worth any more of my trouble since I did find a 3/8's spur for it and since its mostly going to sit on the shelf in the Poulan collection.

Ok, right, I forgot you had told me that you found a 3/8 spur, sorry. I didn't know that about my Poulan. Thanks for the info!

Sachs Dolmar117 versus Dolmar 7900

Why does my old 117 (61cc) list the same horsepower (6.2hp) as a new Dolmar 7900 (79cc)? Just curious.

102

I have just bought a 102 from 1983. I haven't used this make before but am eager to get started. It has running problems so I am in the process of changing the ignition. Do any of you have this saw?

Repaired the ignition and the engine now runs really well, I am having problems obtaining a new spocket, does anyone have one kicking about?

Whats a good looking/running Dolly 123 going for??

It depends ,Jakob. The area it is coming from, if its a private deal or off Craigs list, or if its off the Bay the price would vary quite a bit. If it comes from an area where there was plenty of them the price is often lower than from an area where they were only a few to be had. I would hazzard a guess of around $250-$300 for a good one with a good bar and chain.
