That weight matches every 7900 I have or have had. When were they introduced?

2002/2003?

If you go to older posts, I don't think you will see any statements about that kind of weigh, just a little over the 13.6 or 13.8 lbs specs....

Guys you need to remember the 7900 7910 video shows weight with clutch cover and dawgs on. The dolmar spec when they 7900 first came out was weighed without the clutch cover on and bet no dawg or dawgs.

i'm a bit slow but is that a wire and ifso whats it for

attachment.php

?????

I dont think thats a wire, I think thats the back of the inside cover that keeps debris out of the chain brake mechanism...

Seems as though it could be an optical conclusion....

The Artic version usually hides the wire better than that...

What's 1400 eu. come to in USD over 2000$ aint it?

Unfortunately for us, 1400€ for a product usually translates to about 1400$, even if the rate would be 1: 1.45... But nowadays its about 1: 1.23 so €1400 is $1720.

But as i said, that doesn't mean the saw is going to have that price in US.

You never know boys, she may take to porting really well and turn out to be a heck of a saw. :msp_biggrin: Still no spring AV though. :msp_sad:

Just noodling this around in my head......

Why will a saw that is 1400 Euro ($1720) in Germany cost around $1000 in the US?

The 1400 Euros includes 19% VAT (tax), so you can deduct that. Now we're down to 1176 Euros, or $1446. Small european businesses also have very high overhead and mostly sell fewer saws. I'm sure the dealer cost is far below the retail shown.

Stihl USA must accept a lower margin in the USA, in exchange for a higher volume of sales and due to what the market will bear. We have lower costs, and much more competition. At the end of the day, the 461 will probably be close to $999 retail that a 460 goes for; significantly lower in some locations:msp_biggrin:
