2 cycle Oil - Synthetic or Not to Synthetic

I have been reading a lot about the advantages and disadvantages of Synthetic 2 cycle oil mix, I am still looking for some direction. I understand probably that using Synthetic Oil in a used saw is pointless and probably a waste of money. I Run 92octane and was wondering what you all think. Have a great day. Running a 029Super "Farm Boss".

Do a search for synthetic oils and see how many people like it. I use it and no problems so far. Some people wont use it because of how much it is but all oil prices keep going up in price.

Stihl Ultra synthetic all the way, less carbon, ethanol stabilzers, why else would Stihl double the warranty of a new saw to two years with a six pack of Ultra mix with a new saw purchase.

I even run synthetic in my mowers. I don't know that it is a big deal in regular saws seeing many ran for decades on dino. But, if you have anything 4Mix you had better use synthetic . Since I have both I see no point in trying to save nickle keeping a separate mix.

I switched all over to synthetic, when i started seeing carbon build up, and mild scoring. Don't know why I ever ran conventional, because I learned early on with my dirt bikes synthetic was the ticket. I assumed conventional had much improved, and become similar to synthetic. I was wrong, for those who count the pennies, check the price of a oem p&C. But I guess for a pro faller, in the woods, and a six month to a year life in a saw, then maybe the added expense would not be necessary.

i have always used echo power blend,, it has stabilizer in it and its semi synthetic,, never had any issues

I'd say it might have something to do with profit margins being higher on ultra and little increase in cost to increase the warranty period. But I'm all ears on this. :msp_biggrin:

I've switched to Gary Goo racing oil and everything runs smoother. Performance has increased and when at full throttle a small blue flame can be seen out the muffler.

Most dealers up here only carry the Dino oil , the warranty is doubled when we buy a 6 pack of Dino .

I'm thinking it has something to do with 4Mix engine problems as well. Doesn't take much carbon to screw those little valves up.
