If the saw is chained just right the high exhaust will put some wood on the ground......but most guys just run round ground that's always duller than in was in the last cut. That's where more torque is a plus.

It sure helps the 'I'll sharpen it later brigade...' ;)

Nice work DC.

Even though I was kinda expecting a piped, two piece head hot saw. :msp_sad:

Not tryin to be mean, but really how much wood do u put on the ground or cut up in a year? No disrespect to u, bsnelling, mdavelee, etc., but u guys don't heat wiith wood vs northern, mn. Get an 025 and you'd be set.

What's your point? You don't have to do 100,000km a year to be a good mechanic..

OK Brad......I admit it. Ricky is the best saw builder in the world......Dennis is an #######......and I don't know Jack ####.

Happy?

:hmm3grin2orange:

I'm glad someone else agrees with me. I've been telling y'all that I wouldn't let Randy touch #### of mine. And we all know that loggers make the best Porter's. Seriously?! Dude your just plain a dumb ass. Yeah I agree Dennis is an ####### sometimes but he's smarter than hell. You just news to go dig a hole or something and ####

On the bar tip, DC, you do that with just grinding or a mill or???

Mr. HE:cool:

It was all done on a Barshop. For those that don't know what a Barshop can do......The Barshop has a grinding wheel, which I ground off the hard nose with. It also as a grooving wheel, which grooves the bar slot. In this case an 0.63 grooving wheel. Then matched the rails to the new tip with the grinding wheel. (Opps, not all done on the Barshop) used a drill press to drill the 3 holes for the rivets. This can be done without a Barshop but the Barshop is set-up exclusively just for bar repair and re-grooving.

Did you do any swapping or mods to the carb and coil Dennis?

No, I didn't feel we needed the unlimited coil. I did pull the limiter tabs on the low and high speed needles, and touched up the velcity stack with the sanding wheel. Haven't done anything to the carb as of yet, may not. I actually would like to try a HT1 on it.
Basically, added a port to the muffler, set the squish, ported the cylinder by opening up the bottom transfers, cleaning and matching the top transfers, widened the exhaust, widened the intake and lowered it a few degrees, and then added boost ports, coming from the top of the bottom transfer. Should be sucking plenty of fuel, which makes it pull hard for a "still tight" engine. That video was only the 3rd cut that saws ever made.
