Those covers are for the grip. The piece that is needed is in the kickplate.
They really are hard to find.
Not all the 262 tanks had one of these. I looked at the 4 262's I have and 2 differant tank styles, ones with this compartment and ones without. The busted tank I thought I could get one off doesn't have the compartment. I'm no help.

Apparently, only the first few years of the 262 were made with the "Lunch Box Handle"©. I've heard that it really raises the value of the saw.........:hmm3grin2orange:
