yep,, another oil thread,,,been doing a lot of research on the different oils,, reason for that is that the echo power blend that i have been using keeps going up and up in price,, right now it is 2.50 for a 2.6 oz bottle,, enough for 1 gallon,, so i decided to do a lot of reading to see what everyone else is using,,,, i have been using the echo power blend for years with no issues but then i only cut maybe 5 cords a year too,,, i do go though a lot in my weedeater though,,, so i stopped a oreileys and got a quart of of the lucas,,,, for the 10 bucks i can mix 2x's more with the lucas then i can the echo,,, so let the flaming begin

After 40 years of working on OPE, participating in several forums, reading and posting in countless threads, piles of locked up engines, lots of money spent, and too much time used up I have come to 2 conclusions .....................

1. So long as you use a good 2 cycle oil (even the old non-synthetic lawnboy in the can) with a decent oil/gas mix and tune it properly (I have NEVER seen a damaged P&C that was run on 32:1) you will be fine

2. I will run the best (BelRay H1r or Maxima K2) in my equipment. Keeping my ported saws internals looking new and performing that way is worth every penny to me. I am not a pro, I just get lots of side work and cut lots of firewood.

I don't use much oil (volume wise) so cost isn't a issue, but whatever oil you use should be 40:1 at the thinnest in a ported saw. I run canned 50:1 in my weed eater but that is because I don't want a fuel issue in the case of a warranty claim.

i use the supertech for air cooled since its came out.... 32-1 none burned up yet...they are tuned a lil fat.....since i have come to this site......
