I've been wanting a 3/4 wrap for this saw, but I haven't been able to find the correct brake handle, and I really don't like the angle of the bar on the 064/66 wrap handle, anyways....

So I decided to make my own hybrid 3/4 wrap out of the standard bar, and the wrap part of a 3/4 wrap handle. :)

This is the standard 064 handle...

And what used to be a 3/4 wrap...

....After a couple hours of grinding and bending, this is what I came up with...

I just need to find someone to weld it for me, and probably install some new rubber, but I'm pretty happy with it so far!

So what do you guys think? o_O

Nice work. Get it welded and hit the woods. Some of the nicest things I have seen for saws is custom built.

I like it, Clint. Looks good and functional. Applaud your efforts.

I have a similar project slated for a different saw. My problem is that I can't buy a wrap for it, so I will make one.

I dropped the saw off at the welder's. He said I could pick it up at lunchtime tomorrow.

Now does anybody know where I can get the rubber to cover the handle?

Here it is next to an 044...

There was a post somewhere with part numbers for the Stihl stuff.

You can also use heavy duty electrical heat shrink. ..the stuff with glue inside. Do you have Platt electric in Cali? They sell it...you can also buy online. I bet McMaster or grainger would have it.

I just had a whole roll of it but used what I needed and sold the rest. Purchased it from my dealer. Pricey but I had no problem selling the left overs.

I think you could easily sell those if you wanted to make more.
I think there is a market for Aftermarket full wrap chainsaw handles and Big Felling Dawgs.

Specifically some that fit Hooskees, as Stihl sends their saws with Adequate Felling Dawgs ;)
