The old man had an old acco c1800 for years and years. Slowest and most smokey truck ever. But it never stopped
Your right about that Matty 2, the term ''Acco'' was not short for ''most powerful truck ever built'' but they were honest and run for years and years. Most common fault is,,,,, flat batteries or no fuel.

The old Bus I'm steering is a KW T904.
It's an 06 model with 1.4 million on the dial.
Powered by a CATC15@ 550+hp.
Drives through a double o/d 18speed road ranger box coupled to 46,000pd eaton/fuller diffs.
Typical grader motor... Loves pulling n pushing... Don't like stopping!
Gross wght is 65 tonne everyday of the wk!
Total length of the b/double combination is 25.2m.

Ahoy everyone. Anyone know of a source for dolmar 7900 hd filter kits? Seen some prices from Aussie stores and laughed. There has to be a better way...

I would suggest importing one from the states, but finding a seller to send it over is half the job nowadays. Not sure why some businesses over there have become so anti Australian. Even Baileys won't reply to my "Ship to Australia" emails. US ebay has made it extra difficult to ship to Aus also. Maybe some other aussie 7900 owners still have a good supplier?

1.4 million kms is probably down to excellent filtration and high quality oils.....

Yep, might have found a couple of sources over there. Or I could get a mate in the U.S to buy a couple and send em over.

Nothing much to know, all the money is in the driveline. Just remember they were $150k roughly when new, and if anything major needs replacing the bills are in line with a $150k machine, not a $11k one.
Roughly 3000hrs for tracks, 10-20000hrs for everything else. If he can find something decent with 10000 hrs in his price range it should last a lifetime on a farm.

I thought of a couple of other things.

Factory pto is a bit rare, but well worth having. Full hydraulic set ups for every implement is a bit limiting for farm use.

The jap import stuff is just like all those jap import cars, all good until you need some $2 part and it wasn't specced on the Australian models.

If anyone wants to share contact info for the Darth Vader kits on the 7900s could they pm me please? I may have some gear ex USA soon and might get a few of these kits as I really don't like the stock filter setup. Tks

mate has a 1948 international crawler tractor on his property….still mostly original. Had to replace the radiator last year and is fairly certain it was original. The original hyd cylinders had seized up and were all cast housings with ornate cast bell cams to front blade. He made his own new rams and arms to replace. shame he could have restored the old ones if he wanted to but didnt . I think he also converted the clutch steering to have hyd ram assist, again his own rams. pretty handy guy, he has a grader, had broken axles, broken bull gear in rear diff….made his own to replace
