QUOTE="KiwiBro, post: 5915117, member: 33374"]Cutting wood explicitly voids the Stihl warranty, so I'm just after a piss revving 241 for the shelf.

But seriously, yeah, that's how i keep my other bars clean-ish but these ones haven't seen wood for I reckon 10 years and I just wanted to clean one up and see what it looked like under all the rust. Will try to find a 40-grit belt tomorrow and make a few sparks.[/QUOTE]
I have tried a few things & round course 2"/3" Roloc discs (bit like scotchbrite) work best in a R/A surface prep sander or die grinder. Brings em up shiny without taking any metal. Next best... orbital sander with paper.

yup and the older ruger no 1 and the Remington all went bang and hit what we aimed at.... i's been working up 308 hand loads and yesterday got the recipe right or much better so had a few spare rounds to just pop off .. I must say i got some pricey Hornady ammo thinking its cases would be tip top for reloads,,, well it worked ok OEM but as reloads NQR the primmer pocket was too tight and the neck did not want to shape the 1st one tried to jammed in the breech on me today so 5 of then are to be disposed off & i found cheap as PPU cases did the trick.
