I just bought another XP-1000 yesterday.Supposed to have great compression. No bar or chain, but I've got those from my 1st XP-1000 that pretty much ended up as a parts saw.I got that one almost 3 yrs.ago.I cleaned up the bar today & freed up the one seized link on the Oregon 52C chain.I can't wait to get the beast.

If they are comparable to the Super1050A which I think is the same motor family, I paid 100.00 for my first one which had a nice original 24" and 2 something for my 2nd with no b/c .
I consider myself lucky on those deals though , because they both will pull that 42" pretty well and a 36" like it doesn't exist. It's quite a bit stronger than my PM800, I've cut straight through some stumps that were to heavy for me to push over after the saw plowed right out the other side.

How would you give for a pair of 1130A saws, one has a 42" bar and both run. A friend is looking for a bigger saw (McCulloch SP81 w/36" is his big saw now).

Thanks,

Mark
Depends on condition, if the 42 has 1/2" chain on it or if either have been converted to .404. Nice versions i'd suggest around ~$300 ea, again, I personally paid far less than that for mine, but it needed a full tear down and rebuild. I've also seen one for as high as $500 usd, it was very clean and ran perfectly, only a 28" bar though.

Great buy.
I like them a lot.
I got a XL-12 a month ago for $30. Adjusted the carb. Made new cork gaskets for the fuel and oil caps and it's making firewood.
I got an old blue 2 months ago for $70. I'm beginning to think it's a Super XL. It will out cut both my red one's badly.

Are there any check valves on this 330? The diaphragm alone won't move oil. Doesn't take much to make a check valve non-functional.
I received a NOS oil pump diaphragm from Leon yesterday for my 330. Installed it today and I have oil now.
The only thing wrong I could see with the old diaphragm was it was dome shaped compared to the new one being flat.

I just successfully revived a Super 2 oil pump diaphragm that was also warped and very stiff. I let it soak in DOT3 brake fluid for a couple days and it softened up enough and regained its shape enough to start pumping again. Having no idea how soft they're supposed to be, it was a complete crap shoot. One thing is certain. DOT3 works for softening stiff diaphragms. How long the effect lasts seems based on what they're exposed to afterward from what I've read. Varying levels of success seem pretty common across the board. So far so good with plain old bar oil.

I'll try that next time. Thanks.

Yeeeppppp!

Also had someone want me to fix a 410. I sent them to a friend that repairs saws.
I'm not going to start doing that. It's a chore to keep my saws in good shape.

Shouldn't be hard to find that broken part, either here or on feebay. Check pristine before spending any money on it.

I've seen a lot of "repairs " on those handles.

I'll check it out and run it some before I start spending money on it. If it's trash, I'll have a parts saw for my other 3.
I won't get it for a while. He and I are about 3 hours apart and see each other 2 or 3 times per year.

What's this guys? Super XL Auto?
A friend gave me what I thought was a XL12 yesterday. I won't get the saw until the middle of this month.
He sent me pics and I noticed right away something was different about the bottom.
The saw in question is on the left. One of my XL12's is on the right.
No ID tag he can find.

This is what I'm getting below.

Sure looks like all the Super XL Auto’s Ive seen. I had one, ran it, had it try to cut off my foot, and sold it. Decent saws though, and dead reliable.

Thanks much. I've never had a super. If it's as reliable as my XL12's it's gonna be a good one.
It may be trash. The more I look at the pics the worse it gets.
Taking the muffler off and taking a look will be the decider if I'm gonna spend money on it to bring it back to life.
