i agree
I have a 7900 and i agree that it is a great saw, I was commenting on that i was so suprised at how much I liked the 440. It felt good in my hands and had plenty of power-
It pushes a 20 chain much better than my 361. I could fit it in between the 361 and 7900. 361-18 /440-20/ 7900-24 hmm
firehouse you say thall?
Indeed the 440/044 is an excellent saw. I loved mine. Problem is, it still doesn't really stack up against a 7900. Hence, it's very close to some other saws that'll do a little more than it will. I'd say if you were going to try and get a new 44 your better off to get a 7900 for about $200 less, better vibration, lighter, and a full HP more than the 440. Don't get me wrong, it's a GREAT saw, it's just too close in size to others that'll out cut it. I love my old 288XP also, but I know that for a 90cc saw, if I were buying a new one, I'd buy a 660 mag. Get my point here??? I know where you can get an almost new 44 for $525 plus shipping. I don't think it has 20 hours on it. Good luck though and don't get me wrong with what I'm saying. Stihl is just an inherently more expensive saw than alot of others and since I'm poor, I always look at the whole value of a package.
Cheers,
Dude
