I've never had to work on my new stihls or huskies.... they both look pretty complex, but I'd bet the stihls are a bit complex-er.

Those Beemers might be flashy but those old Volvos will run for a good while longer with regular upkeep. I may be biased though. I had an old Volvo V70 from late high school through university, never gave me much grief, and had pretty good ground clearance with slightly bigger than stock tires.Went out to my "mystery tree" with the Fiskars X27 and a sled.
I'm now about 90% certain it's slippery (red) elm. A 6" round thought the X27 was SO cute. LOL
Too my mind red elm is about as good as firewood gets around here (AFTER it's split)
Burning some from that sledload tonight. Will need to get the gas splitter and the larger rounds together.
It's long way to drag a sled through snow and mud 'tween that tree and the house.
Allison went and bought her second motorcycle today.
She'd owned it before, moved on, but missed having a "REAL" motorcycle

. I may have an extra 050x84dl(25" in stihl nomenclature lol) if you need one let me now, as I know you've been a bit stuck in the husky realm for a while.Congrats, great saws for sure. I think I've owned 6 or 7 of them, I see no reason to have one around, even when I have a few 372's.
Two cs-355T, ms201t, husky 525 pole saw, stihl 362c, two old huskys lol, two 550's, and a stihl 261c.
If you are right, I'll take that 261 C if he does not want it!
Matt, I hope you get everything (especially that 262) running again and use good mix in them. If you do, I may have some extra saws ... or some projects you may want to get involved with. I have lots of "project" Asian bottom ends, and OEM 044+440 jugs, 046+460 jugs and 066/660 jugs!
I also have a mean ported 026 that has more compression than I like at my age!
Re: Saw kits ... I don't know how you get much simpier than 440, 460 and 660 kits ... IMO, nothing to them! (Unless you have bad parts).
So, what is better ... a Volvo, a BMW or a Yota ... I'll take the Mustang!!!
I also had an 85 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe and a 92 Thunderbird Super Coupe, and I put over 250,000 miles on each of them, and I beat the daylights out of them! They were both good cars for their time.
Owning the SC Thunderbird (a SC V-6 weighing over 3,800 lbs) gave me the inspiration to want a SC V-8 in a Mustang. More power, less weight, what could be better! But the Thunderbirds had more room and were good to have when my daughters still lived at home. IMO, it is a shame they discontinued that vehicle.
The 85 Turbo Coupe was Silver with Charcoal grey rocker panels, and the 92 Super Coupe was dark blue metallic. Both had 5 speed stick.

I know them's fightin' words....but it's the truth.
We've put a few kit saws together and the 372s are way simpler than the 361s or 660s we've done.
Not that stihls don't make sawdust every bit as well as huskies, but they are simply not as easy to wrench on.

While I'm at it, I'm only gonna haul my wood with a GAS CHEVY WITH A REMINGTON HANGING ON THE GUN RACK AND A SMITH AND WESSON IN THE SIDE DOOR WHILE DRINKING PEPSI and this is of course after I've cut my wood with a MCCULLOCH BURNING STIHL ORANGE BOTTLE OIL MIX AT 50:1!!!!

Upstairs at the farm I removed the plaster from a wall. Inside the wall was a framed picture of a very pretty woman dating back to the early 1900's. We have no idea who this woman is. My inlaws passed away years ago. There was no name on the back of the picture. Why anyone would hide a picture inside of a wall is beyond me.
I rebuilt a Stihl 291 for my cousin. Talk about the idiocy involved in developing that model lol. After you’ve had a couple apart you at least understand how to work on them it but it’s still a completely stupid design.
