I hope the 262 is the first one you work on!
I promise you it will

That 362c has bags of new parts for it.
One of them being an electric carb….

If you want, I’ll try and do a compression test to it

I’m amazed, Derek said before the guy went under, he’d just go buy a new saw to keep the two crews running and order the parts he thought he needed. But never fixed anything. These were part of Derek’s severance package…

He stored them for a few years in his shed then told me to come get them out of his way as they were taking up space…..

Amazing!

Stinks!!!

I’ve wanted a 550xp for a bit to see how it compares to my dads 241

Well, preliminary inspection, i think I can make one 562xp out of the two….

But I promised uncle Mike, 262xp comes first View attachment 1151613
That's a bummer!

A 550 will eat the 241s lunch in anything but really small wood.

I cut this pile of firewood last Fall and planned splitting it by November. Ha, that never happened! It was a nice day and Brother came over. We pulled out the splitter and spent about 6 hours on the pile. Really wet wood, so we let it lie. Suppose to be 60s and windy tomorrow. We'll stack after a couple of days of drying. Probably 2 cords of wood. But all things seem bigger than they really are  . I'll get a better idea when we stack it. This will be for the 2025 season or later. Really stringy for Red Oak.

P.S. Forgot the pic.

Pretty nice saw, it’s not a husky but I guess it will do😉. I think for most circumstances the new version 462 is better than the 500i, much better air filter technology, better av for long bars, faster chain speed limbing, uses less fuel and lower price. I do like the shape of the wrap handle on the 500i better. Now if they were just smoother and got rid of the sthil flippy caps they’d almost be as good as a husky, lol.
Congrats on the new saw, hope you enjoy it.

I stopped at Dollar General on the way home, this is just a teaser pictureView attachment 1151590
Nice haul for you… Although it’s amazing that some people can trash so many pieces of equipment!

Unless I forgotten something I’ve only seized one saw in my life and that was a 4218 Poulan that we used to process several 30 inch Cottonwood.

Whew!! New top end and carb on the 272xp, guessed right by the new coil being in the box of parts, no spark

It’s gonna have to wait till the 262 Finds Its Way to the bench, I’ll just set it aside for now
You should just send the 262 to me. Otherwise I may have to make a voodoo doll and find some pins…

I don't split much wimpy wood, so I'll stick with this,

It pushes EVERYTHING through its 4-way wedge,

I've split 24 inch logs on mine. I have a tractor mounted hydraulic splitter for real knotty wood like that. I would prefer splitting wood that splits easy versus **** like that.
