yup...i can relate...i only have 4 saws in my truck now..660, 046, 2x 460's...

which brings me to something else...people often ask me why i run such a big saw....and it is as simple as this..they may be heavier..but you don't have to be there as long!!
A big saw will work when you need a small one better than a small one will work when you need a big one.(paraphrased from the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers)

my philosophy goes something like this...

"they don't get broke or dirty sitting in the shed or in the truck...but they also don't make any money"

they're loggin' saws...they dont' have to be pretty..to be honest i kinda like the ones that look like crap and run like a raped ape...don't know why..just do

I know what you mean. I like a new shiny saw like the rest of the guys, but the ones that look beat up and wore out in my aresonal are the real runners!

All cause of RUN TIME!!

I think it's the run time they have on them. My 066 is the most beat up "POS looking" thing there and it smokes them all......... It's just relentless......you can bury the 25" bar in dead dry white oak, pull on it as hard as you can, and it finds another gear and keeps going.....lol Just an awesome saw.....:greenchainsaw:

+10...Im just a firewooder, but I take care of all my tools, from chainsaws to air drills to trucks. Thats just my nature.

I am a firewooder too...The way I see things it don't cost me much to my saws ready to run. I will be taken a saw with me all most everyday to the field to trim trees and cut anything that has fell in the fields. ( I don't make a living running a saw, but I do use them to heat my home, up keep our farm and help out a friend or two.) Back when we had our sawmill I ran a saw daily, but we sold the mill. A chainsaw to me is a "must have" and if your going to have it use it.....

so did ya take out that fence when you dropped it?

Psst, not many of my saws are stock either...but even when they were never ran skip. 100% full comp here

Must be a midwest thing but I like full comp. I have tried skip, and I understand its merits, but for the wood where I preside I like the full comp chain. I do keep skip for ripping rounds, making noodles. Half for the necessity if halving large rounds and half just for fun. :chainsaw:

 Its called "character" and shows that it works or is used as opposed to being a poser's showcase queen.

My saws are being used, and are accumulating the character to prove it. I do like to clean them after using them, but don't get excited about little scratches or having them steam cleaned. They are going to get dirty AGAIN.:chainsaw:

I got to run my "new to me" 066 Mag yesterday.:greenchainsaw: It starts easier than expected with or without the decompression button, and does the job its supposed to do. Having been "previously loved", it already shows some use, but not abuse. It is, afterall, a tool, and tools are meant to be used.
