I can think of plenty of uses for it....not the least of which being some pretty robust trail and shooting lane clearing up at the cabin I've got coming next spring.

In reality I'd probably neck down to a shorter bar than that but that is easily my favorite saw I've ever run.

Why buy just one saw....get a ms441 and then get a top handle saw...get it juiced with carbide loops.

$1300 is about the price of a 461R and porting (maybe a little less) :msp_wink:

A Powermatic 66 table saw would do in a pinch i suppose, would have to be used though, out of production since about 2008.

While I'm spending the OP's $$$$ . Get a 390 XP for around 1k ( it lists for 1069 but you should be able to get a break ), box it up and send it to your favorite saw porting person . Even with shipping , you'll be within $ 25 . Trust me , a modded 390 Xp will make you smile !
