I would have to agree with the guy at work! how can you have a good grip on the saw when 2 fingers are running the throttle?
I guess, we are just living dangerously, LOL, right out there on the ragged edge of the envelope, LOL.
Seriously, people have run saws like this for as long has chainsaws have been run, and its quite doubful that those that run with two fingers end up running a bar tip through their noodles any more than those that specifically and consciously use 1 finger do for the theoretical idea that it is safer.
I'll say it like this then, for the first 8 hours of cutting I use 1 finger, then for the next 6 hours I use two fingers or my thumb or a zip tie, LOL. How is that for safety, LOL.
Some of this PC safety crap is ignorant, you are running a chainsaw .......... on a scale of 1 to 100 you are at about an 88 on dangerous ways you could be spending your time. Whether or not you use one or two fingers is the difference between an 89 or the 88, so who cares??
Its like complaining about which shoe is safer for a guy jumping out of an airplane with a parachute. Sure high tops, laced up are safer, but in the whole grand scheme of things its not that big of a deal.
I guess, that is what chat forums are for.
