I think I am more than qualified to answer most saw questions BUT I am a big saw guy. I have run very few smaller saws. So will a 346 husky run a 28 if cutting nothing over 6 in.? I would need the length for reach not big wood. I may have a job in the spring where a small saw , long bar would be Ideal. :chainsawguy:

i have run a 24" on my ported 346's. as you say, smaller wood is not a problem. the parasitic loss of the long bar is not significant. if your saw has a modded muff, i would say "go for it." don't worry so much about the handling. it is saving your back from bending and the saw is so light.

mine don't have any problems with the 24" bar. if you were burying the bar you would need more oil. but in limbing situations, i don't think he will have any problems. i do wonder about finding a small mount husky bar in a 28" length. maybe a large sugi with a spacer??

Thanks for all the input Great video as well. I dont own a 346 was wondering about getting one set up with a long bar BEFORE I bought one. I had a little of this same work and used my 372 xpw It worked but I could feel it at th end of the day.

How are these 346s for durabilaty? If they are like my other huskys they are tough. Lots of you seem impressed with them.:chainsawguy:

You can get a powermatch bar from oregon with the small mount. Just change the tip out to 325
