Anyone ever cracked a piston using a piston stop??

I use the Stihl black angled plastic stop if I have to in the field to swap a rim on my 3120 but use an impact wrench at home. Too many have their wrench set to "kill" instead of "stun". You're not tightening up wheel nuts on a Kenworth so you don't just hold the thing flat out like a jackhammer :)
In saying that though, I'd be wary about using one on a small saw.

This is what I use. Made by Stihl Part # 0000 893 5903 Very cheap but excellent. Well made and tough.

If the saw was choked and on, would an impact facilitate clutch removal when the saw fired?

This question John?

Not sure what you mean.

Along similar thought, wouldn't the chain brake engaging while the saw running be bad too?
Worse than using an impact, I would think.......
