When the Husky 385XP(similar to a Jred 2186) came out their catalog listed the fact that it would run up to a 42 inch. I run a 33inch 404 pitch with full comp mechanical harvester chain on it so the Jred 2188 should run a 36 inch 3/8 pitch bar without a problem at all.

A 660 will pull a 36" easy. Get the dual port muffler cover and have them tune it before cutting.
