I think that maybe we need to start a National Chainsaw Association to protect the saws from the EPA.
That way, I could be a life member of that fine organization, too!
?? Why?? With the EPA you get saw companies making awesome saws like the 361,362 and 441 with plugged up mufflers. They have to build extremely great saws with a lot of thought behind them and inside them to work with that plugged up muffler, mostly to get the most power out of a gallon of gas.
Now here is the neat part. Just drill larger holes in the muffler and VIOLA! you have a non-EPA saw that has much, much better techno stuff and go fast engineering than that old crap/vintage stuff hobbiest like to run.
As an individual that makes a living based on board footage, I want speed and efficiency .......... if I can be comfortable (read AV) while the speed and efficiency is working, then so much the better. I don't know about other saw companies, because I only run Stihl, but Stihl saws keep getting better and better, sure you have to unplug them, but that is just a "right of passage" so to speak, and keeps the idiots from getting in over their heads, LOL.
My opinion,
