couple of 288 questions

Thanks guys, now im gonna have to order 6 new rubber av mounts. I still dont understand the oil tank breather. I pulled it and it looked fine, but by design how do they allow air in without seeping some oil? Also, anyone have a nice used full wrap for a 288?

There is a vent on top of the case, under the muffler that allows air into the tank. Well at least I think that is what it is for.

Agreed, Dirko is really great stuff. That's what I used to use, now I just machine the cylinder base down, and run the stock gasket.

Watch those decomps. After getting my Lite running, we set it rich for the initial first run time in the woods. Then I came home, opened the muffler, and been working on tuning when I remember Had to trim the limiters on the carb.
Anyways, I was trying to set it the other day and noticed mix coming out round the decomp. I pulled it out and the thing was completely shot, and no way it was sealing.

Wish she was runnin right so I could take er to the woods in the mornin

I wish i could just machine the base down...but then i would end up turning a pop-up in an 066 piston, i just dont have the resources

I got it for free from work. Came with something and I didn't need to use it, so I took it home!!
