When looking to buy new parts for my Homey XL on ebay i came across this:
sparkscreenarrestor.png

That metal sheet would be a spark arrestor screen for the muffler, this is my second XL i own and neither of them had this part in the muffler:dizzy:

So i'm wondering ... would it need this part?

That sheet metal part is the baffle or partition for your muffler, the screen on the right is your spark arrester. To have a fully functioning muffler you would need both those parts. A good many XL`s were run without either part in them and it only makes the saw run louder.

So i guess buying the baffle is the best thing to do?
I already have the spark arrester on mine, my previous XL did not have anything in the muffler, probably the reason why it never ran right ...
And she does runs pretty loud for a saw that small
