I have an echo 4400, it's been a real nice saw but I have started to have some problems with chain tension. The saw is 4 years old and started throwing chains. I checked the tension after I cut each log, 8 - 10 cuts, and adjusted when necessary. If I didn't catch it in time, the chain would jump the socket and would nick up making the chain unusable. I grease the nose before each use and keep it pretty well in good shape. Is it time for a new bar? Any tips would be appreciated.

Check the sprocket for wear.Sounds like maybe its jumpin around. Also check the tensioner.Mine get wore down and it causes the chain to loosen up quickly.

Hope this helps.
