You'll still tune to the factory spec. It'll just be a leaner setting than it would be a sea level.

Okay, will do when I get the manual from McCulloch. Also, I did read a little of the thread about the muffler mod. Is this something that would help power?

As for all of the fishing, I don't know how to prove that I am not, but please let me know.

I'll give you the benefit of the doubt... Even if you are, I think is funny.

This is my first post on this forum and I have some problems!

I have a McCulloch MacCat 38cc Model cs38 16"

Every time my buddies and I go to cut wood, I am the slowest in the group and my chain cuts like crap. Their saws are not bigger than mine in cc but they cut faster. I had one of my buddies sharpen the chain, but it didn't help and they keep making fun of the saw (and me!). Can anyone give me some advice on how to mod or make the saw kick my buddies butts?!?

P.S. I am not going to get a new saw.

Well my friend do I ever have what you need to whip them mean ole buds ya been running against. It is called a Husky 372 xp and it eats stihls for breakfast ! interested?:monkey:

Well about the only thing you can do in this situation is buy my like new 345 16" it comes with 4-5 new chains even and a few sharp used ones.

I even have another real decent 16" .050 x .325 bar off my 346 I can throw in that will keep you in chains and bars for years to come.

Wow! I just watched this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ3w7Ylg5is

It would take my McCulloch all day to do that! I have a lot to learn...I thought this was going to be an easy fix....and I thought I had an okay saw...guess I was wrong on both accounts. Clay

I don't know, doesn't look too quick to me...if you ask me woodyman's 359 seems to put a whoopin' on those 372s...

Just a plug for woodyman, he's got it up for sale in the Tradin' Post, at this link.

If you really want to put a spankin' on your buds, this saw would do it! :jawdrop:

I have a 16" bar, does that help? I am still using the chain it came with, but this is the one my buddy said that he sharpened and it would be better, but it wasn't.

I am new to all of this and appreciate the help. What about tuning the carb to this altitude?

is the buddy who sharpened your chain, the same guy you are racing??? think about it..........

Speed isn't always everything it's just a plus.
Oh, so let me understand this correctly...first speed was everything when you posted that video of the 372 which you stated, "No this is quick". But now speed isn't everything...

Not for nothing, but it seems your all wet...

TT
