What about tuning the carb to this altitude?
You'll still tune to the factory spec. It'll just be a leaner setting than it would be a sea level.

See post #14.
Okay, will do when I get the manual from McCulloch. Also, I did read a little of the thread about the muffler mod. Is this something that would help power?
As for all of the fishing, I don't know how to prove that I am not, but please let me know.
This is my first post on this forum and I have some problems!
I have a McCulloch MacCat 38cc Model cs38 16"
Every time my buddies and I go to cut wood, I am the slowest in the group and my chain cuts like crap. Their saws are not bigger than mine in cc but they cut faster. I had one of my buddies sharpen the chain, but it didn't help and they keep making fun of the saw (and me!). Can anyone give me some advice on how to mod or make the saw kick my buddies butts?!?
P.S. I am not going to get a new saw.
Well my friend do I ever have what you need to whip them mean ole buds ya been running against. It is called a Husky 372 xp and it eats stihls for breakfast ! interested?:monkey:

Wow! I just watched this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ3w7Ylg5is
It would take my McCulloch all day to do that! I have a lot to learn...I thought this was going to be an easy fix....and I thought I had an okay saw...guess I was wrong on both accounts. Clay
often cut wood at 10,000 feet - is there anything special I should do?)

I hear Jonsered turbos are the ticket at high altitude.
Kansas
I don't know, doesn't look too quick to me...if you ask me woodyman's 359 seems to put a whoopin' on those 372s...No this is quick: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RUG4M1Nd2Vg
I have a 16" bar, does that help? I am still using the chain it came with, but this is the one my buddy said that he sharpened and it would be better, but it wasn't.
I am new to all of this and appreciate the help. What about tuning the carb to this altitude?
Oh, so let me understand this correctly...first speed was everything when you posted that video of the 372 which you stated, "No this is quick". But now speed isn't everything...Speed isn't always everything it's just a plus.
