I was given this saw a few days ago. The saw had a hard life. Piston is visually scored when I pulled the Tillotson manufactured and marked Stihl carburetor off. Flywheel is toast. Curious to know what the small plastic lever on the right side of the saw is, has + and - adjustments marked on the cover above it. Very large displacement. Can anyone help identify the model of this chainsaw?: :dizzy: monkey: ?

The lever on the side would be the oiler adjustment. Much nicer than the 041 which was hidden under the top cover.

And with a side oil fill, isn't this an 076? Not that it really matters that much.

I checked Acres site and the 075 av model has the side oil fill. Can't tell if there is an oiler adjustment lever in the picture on the 076 model. Thank you to all who have/will offer information on my topic.  :chainsaw:

Can't find a compression release button, may have been removed or? As dire as this saw looks it does turn over occassionally when I pull on the starter handle REPEATEDLY with a lot of compression. Still has fuel in the tank that doesn't smell too bad. Need that compression release and a few dozen other parts...... :greenchainsaw:

I checked the saw and the carb numbers on it are HS 600064. Couldn't find a serial number anywhere, where should it be? No other numbers to be found. Flywheel appears to need a special puller, no got!

Its a newer 075. Looks like you need a flywheel, air filter housing, air filter, and air filter cover and your in business. From your pics it appears that your compression release was plugged.
