Under 20 cords. I attribute that to the new smoke baffle/water jacket system we added on and the fact that January was so mild.

This is the first time since we've been burning that there is wood left over and I have a jump on this coming winter's wood this time of year. I bailed into the recent black ash delivery this past weekend and I am beyond ecstatic about that.

Just over 3 cord for me, near identical use to the previous nasty winter, only real difference is wood quality burnt this winter.
Started out burning mainly silver maple and continued until mid January then lots of black locust, rock elm and red oak the Brrr removers.
Weather is slowly settling in here towards spring but with colder nights than normal.
Figure I will be very close to 4 cord before the last fire and the silver maple barn will have a walkway so you can actually get inside it. LOL

Just under three cords burned for me. Two cords were elm, the remainder was honey locust (helped with the - nights), and currently burning some soft maple...when needed. So, it will still be under three cords by the time it stays warm.
Not bad really. The elm did a better job than I thought it would.

I think spider is cutting some gnarly field edge trees. All of the black and white ash I've dealt with split like a dream. White takes a little more effort than black but not much. Easiest splitting wood out there except for maybe basswood or cedar. On par with red oak.

I BENT a 5# wedge splitting ash once, grew out of a hillside and the heart was 2" from one side and 22" from the other, whole lot of compression wood. Normally my favorite to split along with red oak

A real cord is all. We've had no winter. Well, a week of cold, maybe. Oh, but we burn into June here so "burning season" isn't over by a long shot. Damp. cool days until July are the norm. In the past when we've had a mild winter, we have had a wet summer. I'm kind of hoping for that so the woods don't burn up.

Don't move here.

Really? More don't move here rants. Pretty sure the general population can figure out for themselves where they want to live without your input. Here's an idea, if you don't want people knowing where you live and possibly moving there then don't put thousands of posts about your location on the internet.

You must try to forgive slowp....
An ideologue sees things only as black and white... there is no shades of gray. Because of this they tend to believe (or present) their ideas and opinions as material facts regardless of contrary evidence or real fact. An ideologue does not "fight fair"; their first tactic to prevent the presentation of contrary evidence or fact is to cut-off the other side in mid-sentence... usually loudly and aggressively, before it can be presented. When this happens remain calm, don't get angry (that's what they're hoping for) because it makes you look less credible; keep smiling, wait for them to finish, and restart your point... restart as many friggin' times as it takes (that usually gets well under their skin). When their first tactic fails they'll go directly to plan "B" every time... they'll directly attempt to discredit you by resorting to personal smears, while totally ignoring the original topic (deflection). Just keep smiling, wait for them to finish, and restart your point... restart as many friggin' times as it takes (they'll likely walk away in a big huff while calling you some pretty awful things). Don't play the game, keep smiling... maybe even laugh softly a little (usually brings the middle-finger flag) :D

I love arguing with ideologues... they're so damn predictable

LMAO

Been there with a college friend. He resorted to calling me a Fox News watching right wing extremist.....I don't watch Fox because they are equally as slanted as the liberal news channels. AND I vote for both Dems and Reps depending on who the best person is. Whatever. He made the "unfollow" list on FB.

Your keyboard is going to burst into flames. It's a good thing you enjoy "arguing with ideologues," that way when you're talking to yourself it's for enjoyment.
