I hear ya mate on the 2100 having good grunt.2100’s are great saws with a good bunch of grunt behind them puts a smile on ur face with a good runner
Yep, most of the huskies I've seen piddled bar oil.Is it normal for these new Husky's to leak bar oil profusely ?
Yep have a couple of them , legendary HuskiesI hear ya mate on the 2100 having good grunt.
I've been using one since 1982 for yearly big pine firewood bucking.
I liked it so well I acquired a worn out 394xp which I've been abusing now for 6-years. I've been running a 36-inch bar and the clutch was so worn, a spring fell out while making a horiz notch cut, and locked up the clutch making it direct drive.
Of course right in the middle of dropping a snag redwood.
I powered on thru my cuts and got the tree fell.
The clutch and cover were smoking big time.
When I took the saw in for a new clutch, sprocket, chain and bar tune, I noticed the shop had a new 395xp powerhead.
I went ahead a purchased me a new 395xp w/ 36-inch bar.
I've used it for 1/2 hour limbing and bucking.
The next moring I've got a puddle of bar oil under the saw.

I am needing a new clutch assembly for my early 394xp.I love my 395, but it’s always leaked bar oil. Don’t know if that’s the average experience, but mine always has

I priced a new one at my local saw shop and a clutch with drum, bearing and 3/8-7 sprocket would be well over $200.
My question:
What are my options if any ?
Searching last night I found mostly China-made clutches from parts vendors, and the kits were average of $45.00us.
Am I safe to consider the aftermarket ?
or
Should I be paying the big bucks for a Husqvarna clutch ?
thank you !
