Husqvarna 242xp cylinder on a 238se?

Does anyone know which cylinders other than the stock one will fit a 238se? I am thinking the best bet would be a 242xp?

I believe that is a good bet - just check if you need something else as well to make it feasable......

238 with a 242 top end

I have a 238SE that has a 242 cylinder and piston. I scored up the origional.
The Husky dealer did the switch and told me when I picked up the saw. I should have the receipt some where, it was only 12 or 13 years ago.
The saw still runs great, but it only gets used a few times a year now.
Didn't you have a 262 you wanted to sell?, still have it? We could trade...

I do still have the 262. It has not made it to the top of the projects list yet. It is still sitting. I will keep your offer in mind.

I have a 262 also but would like another. Did you get a 238? The only reason that my 238 see's little use is because I have some 346's and 357's. The upgrade to the 238 has held-up great. A good saw,set up with 58ga, .325 chain.
Your area around DC has some nice trees. Love the drive down to DC from here.

your 238se wont run right with a 242 topend.. you should send to me and I will hold it for you ... i picked up a 238 topend on ebay a few months ago.. used but really nice... got it for my 234SE
