I'm just not too crazy about the 610-650 saws...used to have a 610 a few years ago. I think I prefer the 10-10 saws and others like that, seem easier to handle.

My older son Jeff is a big fan of his group of 600 Series saws.
He even has the special starting technique down pat.

today's falls
Well gentleman did a bunch of cutting today, we dropped 3 24-28" pin oaks about 85-95 tall and a maple that was about 36-38" and about 115' tall... the best part is that they all came down with my Mac 250. It took us about 11 hours straight to drop em buck em load em bring to the house and unload. Fortunately there ended up being 4 of us and one guys son and a tractor to do a lil tugging and the heavy lifting. all the trees were with in 15' of the house except the maple that was out there about 70' with a real nasty split trunk leaning right towards the house here's a few pictures and more to follow.All the wood will be used to heat the house for the winter.

Mostly cloudy and rain off and on all day today. I will try to get out and get a few photo's of the city tomorrow if the weather permits. Prague is indeed a beautiful city, untouched by WWII and the old buildings and statues are quite impressive.
As for the women, there are some real Czech beauties (my mother was full blooded Czech you know) but I'm not sure how they would respond to my request for photo's...

Oh well, something good is going to counter the bad, we'll see what it is soon, I hope. I guess most of the good already showed up, getting a job was a blessing. It still is. I like my job.

Uh...having said that I just ran out this morning and purchased a Pro Mac 610 at the "local" flea market. It was well below the normal selling price however. I'll try to get it going this week.
The weather was nice in the morning while I was catching up on report writing, then got cloudy and rain on and off when I decided to go out for some photo's. My camera, my eye, and the conditions don't allow me to do any justice to the city but here are a few photo's anyway.

A few more, first is the castle complex on the old town side of Charles Bridge

There are trams running everywhere, if you know how to navigate the system. I don't read or understand Czech...
Hard to fit it in with my camera but you can get an idea of the scale by looking at the people in the door way of this old cathedral
And something for the younger generation, there are places like this all over the city.
When I went out for a run this morning around 6:00 there were a number of people just heading home from the "clubs"...I don't know how they do it.

Prague is very popular for tourist from all over the world, and English is almost a universal language.
The smaller shops are less likely to have anything printed in English or even have anyone that speaks Engligh. No problem though, you just hold out a handful of money and they take whatever is correct, the honesty is quite admirable.
On the streets, pedestrians have the right of way at uncontrolled intersections (no lights) and the drivers, even the trams, respect those on foot. Trams don't exactly stop on a dime however so it is a good idea to keep your eyes and ears open.

architecture is beautiful. however, the most important part of any vacation [not that you are on a vacation, but you know what I mean] is the FOOD! Czech food reminds me of home style comfort food, at least from my limited exposure in Cedar Rapids when visiting one of our contractors.
Can't beat a place with the best pilsner beers in the world.

I am not able to partake of alcohol, and the health insurance is after me to lose weight and lower my cholesterol, but at least I can enjoy a hearty breakfast...
Pork, sausages, fried potatoes, and dumplings, it all tastes so good but really hangs on.

Mark, Awesome Pics, very beautiful architecture over there. I like how some of the buildings show the roman influence, while others have the traditional Soviet stylings, as in the globe-like balls on top of spires. The terrain looks flat, flat, flat. Thanks.
