architecture is beautiful. however, the most important part of any vacation [not that you are on a vacation, but you know what I mean] is the FOOD! Czech food reminds me of home style comfort food, at least from my limited exposure in Cedar Rapids when visiting one of our contractors.

Can't beat a place with the best pilsner beers in the world.

Czech food is not unlike German food, but can be a bit more adventurous. They have a head cheese, couldn't spell or eat it to save my life, made with the meat from pork heads, spices and other ingredients that you mix and then set up as a loaf and slice. Jaternice, (E ter itz?), a sausage made from pork liver, jowls, and snout, is edible. Kolackys (ko loch kees), a bun with various fruit or poppyseed fillings, are very good, Montgomery, MN, is the kolacky capital of the world. They also eat something they call tiger meat, raw ground beef with spices and onion, unsure if that is a local deal or it came from the old country. Where I live we have the Bohemian Triangle, a part of south central MN bordered by Lonsdale, Montgomery, Veseli and New Prague. Yes, four sides to a Bohemian triangle. The Catholic church in New Prague looks a lot like the one in Prauge, except redder brick were used along with Kasota limestone.

Happy Fathers Day to all

Hope all you dads had a great fathers day. I got a new creeper to use in my soon to be built garage. It's been 45 years and I finally won't have to work on cars in the stones anymore:biggrinbounce2:
But to stay on topic, I just wanted to share the homemade card my 8 year old daughter made for me. It's kind of boxy, maybe it's my first BP-1.

A few more, first is the castle complex on the old town side of Charles Bridge

Walking back up the hill to where my small hotel is located

There are trams running everywhere, if you know how to navigate the system. I don't read or understand Czech...

Hard to fit it in with my camera but you can get an idea of the scale by looking at the people in the door way of this old cathedral

And something for the younger generation, there are places like this all over the city.

When I went out for a run this morning around 6:00 there were a number of people just heading home from the "clubs"...I don't know how they do it.

Mark

Very nice pictures!!! I am sure the traveling gets old, but it must be nice to get to see those places in person. Thanks for taking the time to snap some pics.

BTW, I may need directions to that place:D.

Antique Store Score

Hey Y'all
Was nosin' around in a local antique store today and happened across an old Oregon display rack that looked to be 50's-60's era. The rack was really cool, but what was in it was even more cool. It had several 6-8 brand new Mac pistons and most were really big!!!! There was only one that was still in the original box and it looked to be a 100cc (+) piston!!! One was in a sealed plastic bag and the others were just sitting in the shelf compartments. They all had part numbers etched into the top of them. I didn't have a pen and paper or I would have written down the numbers. They were askin 95 bucks for the whole she-bang. I didn't have the cash on me, but plan on goin back and gettin it. Hopefully for a little less. It also had (6) new in the box Windsor sprockets. They still had the old original price of 4.79 ea stamped on'em. There were a couple of old Homelite parts still in their original boxes also. I don't much about the old Macs, but these old (new) parts were one of the coolest finds I've ever made.

Cool finds that don't find a 'home' become 'decor.'

Very cool find!

TN-ELK - Please get some part numbers for those pistons posted here, there may be a few guys willing help share the burden of that expense...

Mark

Crikey! That's the truth Mark. I'll be amongst the guys eagerly awaiting those numbers. Hoping for McCulloch #53941A and Homelite #57090.....along with a few other Mac and Homelite pistons, rings, and other things...:D

Uh...having said that I just ran out this morning and purchased a Pro Mac 610 at the "local" flea market. It was well below the normal selling price however. I'll try to get it going this week.

Having said the above...looks like I spoke too soon again. The saw has a very erratic spark so I cleaned it all up, checked for any shorting in the plug wire, kill switch, etc. Looks like the module is crap. I think I know where there is a parts saw locally, so I guess I'll go do some begging tomorrow. Let's see..where did I put my ragged clothes?

Well, I ended up buying a parts saw for the 610 project...cheaper than buying a coil for it. Cleaned it all up inside and out, put a little gas in it and it fired right up! Surprised it didn't need a carb kit for it but it ran just about perfect right from the start, I just had to set the idle up a little. I'm gonna try to post a pic of it, hope I remember how to do this...View attachment 187960http://www.arboristsite.com/attachments/chainsaw/187960d1308680840-pm-610-1-small-jpg

Wouldn't you know it, just as soon as I figured out how to post pics somebody changes it! Again..

McCulloch 1-43

Started to tackle cleaning up the 1-43 (S/N C2767). First thing I ran into was a bracket/lever mounted inside the airbox. There's a rubber grommet through the air box and a cable/hose clamp screwed to the outside of the airbox. The IPL I have doesn't show the arrangement/part but I suspect it is a fast idle device. Have attached some photos and would appreciate some help in identifying. An IPL showing the arrangement would be nice. Thanks in advance.View attachment 187966View attachment 187967

My 250 IPL lists the tank gasket as 50034B. I was just looking at a gasket that says it is for a 250 and does look identical but it is listed as 65580. Is this the same gasket and if so, why the discrepancy?

I have a 1-40 and a 1-42, neither of them have anything like that. Wonder if it's an add-on..
