Yesterday and today I had my first chance to run my craigslist MS460.
When i bought it, it had a 18" bar and since all my other saws take Husky or Homie bars that is what it was tested with.
After reworking a rocked out chain i put on an 8 pin and cut some dead elm.
This saw cuts great!

It seems to me to have a much more vibration compared to the 371

Now I want to get a 24" bar for it so I can compare it to the 371XP and my Dolmar 9010. (all with 24" bars)

Now some questions?
How well will that saw pull a 24" bar in hardwoods with an 8 pin?
Any sponsors have any great deals on a 84DL .050 bar?
Any good used ones that someone doesn't use/need any more? PM Me.

If you put on a 25 B/C I would change out the rim to a 7 pin. That is the set up I have on my 460 and pulls through the hard woods just fine.
ms460 good saw.
cheers

I am currently running an 8 pin with a 24" bar on a 441. Really nice combo.

I would think the 460 would handle it even better.

Oh, I used that 8 pin/441 set up for most of the day yesterday in black oak trees.

I think you will like it. I have a 460 Magnum with 25 inch bar. I made real quick work of a hard maple that was 24 inches at the stump and was 52 feet long. No hesitation at all through the thickest part.

I can only imagine how that saw would scream with an 18 inch bar.
