My new best saw under 100 bucks entry

Picked it up Sunday...all the pals say I need to keep it...I am not sold yet. Needs new bar and chain.

Even with the ax I made it under 100

Love the saw, I love seeing a guy get something like that and make it great! My only problem would be getting parts, as I HATE looking for parts!!

It's a good ~50cc saw, but it's not vintage and you have some good newer saws in that range, so I don't see a point to it. clean it up, make a buck or two on it, and spend the profits on another saw to fulfill your CAD problems.

Even if it isn't a collector's item it should get through the wood just fine, if that's what you need it for.

Is this the saw that was on Cl in Canton? I almost called about ,but since I have its BLUE brother I passed on it.
It was the first saw I bought and You can see where it led to!! It is a nice little saw and I have had no real issues with it at all.
Glad it found a good home if You decide to keep it
P.S. I think our "Northern Brethern" should know temps are going to be in the 30's in the AM. One thing about Texas weather, Just wait a day and it will change------Until it gets to the middle of August, then it just stays %^& HOT!! :hmm3grin2orange:

ill have my last 50buck saw entered in the build of. i got a 371 xp that had been rolled over by a log. it only bent the handle ,that easily straightened. they said it wont start and never would rev colpletel up. so while standing there with it in my hands i paid the guy for it then pulled the stick out of it that had the decomp button pushed in. i pulled it out and pulled the saw a few times and it popped. i told him thanks for the deal,walked out of the store puored in fresh fuel, pulled the completley clogged muffler screen out and fired it up. revved iy up a couple of times and it screamed. i shut it off and threw it in the truck with my work saws. got in the truck to leave and the guy was looking out the door shaking his head and laughing. i straightened the handle and used it to buck logs the next day. sometimes you find a diamond in the rough lol

BTW, at the risk of sounding like a Newb... Is there really some forum competition for <$100 saws and <$50 saws or is it more just a random "hey look what I got" sort of thing?

I know there are "build offs" every once in a while, just haven't seen a cheap saw competition posted before...

well I think that your Dolmar would last most people a lifetime of firewood cutting.......and was a very good value........my best saw for under 100 bucks is a toss up, My Homelite 923 of the Poulan 4200. They both run like new and pump around 180 pounds.:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange: Perhaps a little more saw than most people need....but then again I don't think I ever heard a person say they wish thier saw had a little less power....but yours has the advantage of having a little less weight...that is a good thing after a long day in the woods...

There was a thread a while back that was best saw under 100. I just decided to start a new one.

That axe is a treat...its a real shame the handle is broken. I am thinking of using some wood glue to fix it....if not I am going to find a handle that is just like it.

My Super 250 cost me 35 bucks. Then I started throwing more money at it. I'm probably still under $100, but when I get my new Bar and Chain it will probably put me over.

I paid $40 for my running Mac-15, $99+tax for my Super Steel, and the 028 was a hand-me-down from Grandpa...

the Mac-15 was bad news, though. It may have been 40 for the saw, but its the saw that hooked me bad. CAD is tough on a guy, I'm trying to be good about it, but I feel so inadequate when I come onto this site and look at sig-lines.

Plus gas for the "road trip", and you might have gotten lucky like some have, and found it gone when you showed up.
