I took posession of my cb5036 a couple days ago and I noticed that both corners of the ash pan, on the right side, have a gap where the weld is. You can see the weld but it doesn't completely fill the seam. I am thinking I should have my dealer look at this, but I am looking for some input. Is it a big deal? Just cosmetic?

I would like to send some pics, but I am at work and won't be home for a couple of days. Also, we have dial up at home and it is super slow, don't know if I can even do it.

I'd have to check but I think mine had that also....my guess is they tack it from the inside and seam weld the outside.

Thats what your dealer is for......Ask him to come look at it. Thats his job.

I am certainly going to call the dealer. I was just wondering what some of people thought, maybe someone had a similar experience.

Couldn't agree more... mine is still full of ashes so i can't see what mine looks like. IMHO it should be welded inside and out.
