This is my dad's saw I want to get running without him knowing. So that's why I haven't asked him what model. I know he bought it back in 84' I think and was from a logger. So it maybe a 70's model. I need to find out what model it is so I can order parts and make it like new. Any help I would appreciate it. IMG_2148.JPG

It looks like a model 77 from what I can see in those pictures.

Good for you to take the time to redo that for your dad. Good luck finding parts for it. There is some stuff out there if you take your time looking.

Bearings and seals are common, gaskets can be made but other parts are more of a challenge to find

Thanks I'll start the search with that info. I know it needs bushings and everything rubber. I plan on stripping it down to the case soon

Just pulled the flywheel. Used my stihl tool.

i do believe that clutch is the same as the course thread 162 clutch. literally hens teeth at this point. much easier to just swap some shoes from a newer clutch on the old carrier.

Do you think I have a SS77 since it has electronic ign.
