Please help to identify these stihl parts.

Found this at a yard sale for two bucks. I know it's stihl, but beyond that I have no clue. Any idea what kind of saw this is ?

Looks like a Stihl 038.
Take the top cover off, clean the underside and look for the part number.

yep the part number matches the IPL. Now to know which 038 it is.
Is it the Common 038
The 038 Super
or the ominous 038 magnum
or even the much sought after 038 Magnum II

How many ports in muffler? Which carb? If you pull the muffler off measure the bore. Can't tell by the tank/rear handle part number, no diff

Looks like an early 038 (possibly Super) as it has the metal tank/handle...
