Last night on the drive home from work I had the urge to make some chips. So as soon as I got out of the truck, I fired up the saw and headed for a dead ash lying on the ground. For the last 15 years I've been running .325 chain, now I'm running 3/8 and I love it!
Top is dry cherry, bottom is dry ash. My .325 chain just makes sawdust in these conditions.

very nice! What kind of chain is that? Is the wood green or dry?

Someone has got to have some pics of chips from that really big saw chain?

I'm picturing something like this:

It was my 066 with a 25" bar running stihl rsc. The tree was green and had fallen over into a creek, landowner wanted it out. Since he lets me hunt, cut and pretty much do whatever on his land, i said no problem and out it came.
