When I look up spark plugs using a spark plug manufacturers application lookup feature typically found on their websites - most of the time it agrees with the OEM recommendation. And in the case where I'm looking at a different brand from the OEM - I can also do a competitor cross reference from the OEM plug.

Mostly this works. But sometimes...

If for whatever reason you aren't looking at the OEM plug and in looking at a different brand plug for your application you get Plug A based on make/model. But then you decide to double check and do a cross reference from the OEM plug and it produces Plug B, not Plug A. There's a conflict occasionally in this scenario with a non-OEM plug. Which is typically your preferred choice? The plug from the make/model application lookup - or the plug from the OEM plug cross reference?

Thanks,
