stihl 361 mag egsaust mod. pros/cons

I just got my first stihl after having all huskys. I have no experience with mods and was wondering what the pros and cons were of an exhaust mod./porting. Also were i could get a reliable piece. is the benefit worth the loss in saw life, or is there a loss in saw life? what kind of carb adjustment is needed? THANKS

Cons - Lost power.
Pro - Significantly more power. Should let the engine run cooler. Lets you hear the saw "pop" when starting it cold.

It will not shorten the life of the saw. If anything it will extend it by letting all that heat out. You will need to retune the saw afterwards though.
