So, I have recently been searching for a used Stihl 044/MS440 or a Husky 372. During my time off I cut and sell some fire wood (Nothing crazy, just enough to earn me some funny money), and do some clearing, landscaping, and tree care work on the side. I have a Stihl 036 which I am very happy with, and a 015L which is really old, but still runs like a champ. I'm looking for a slightly larger saw in the ~70cc range just so I can dig into some bigger trees, or save myself some bending over when I'm bucking. I work for the Forest Service and have been running Stihl 044/440 and Husky 372 saws in wildland firefighting use for some time, and so naturally those were my first two choices when looking for a saw. However, I did find that the Dolmar 7300 is comparable in power, and actually a little bit lighter, and less expensive. Most of the used 044/440 and 372 saws that I have found are going for almost as much a it would cost to pick up a new 7300 (without a bar/chain). I don't have the funds to buy myself a new Stihl or Husky, which is why I've been looking on the used market. How does the Dolmar compare to the Stihl and Husky saws? I've dug around on the forums here a little bit, but most of the threads are pretty old. So I was just looking for some more current insight.
