Stihl MS650 Thoughts

Hi all, first post. I'm scheduled to look at a 2011 MS650 tomorrow (he's asking $425). The plan is to make it a big timber/ mill saw and wanted to toss a few questions out there for you guys...

First off, besides basics like carb kits, are there other parts you'd recommend I keep on hand for that saw? Are there any known problem areas on those models to watch for? Im trying to keep a good supply of spare parts for my saws as I get them

Second, what are your thoughts on possible upgrades for the saw? Porting is way out of my league, but what else might be possible? Or should I just leave it? I want to keep it reliable and let's face it, I probably don't "need" more power, but more power is more better

For a hop-up, I'd say putting a 660 top end on it would be the way to go. Get a spare filter or a Maxflow setup for it. I believe 650/660's are pretty bulletproof saws, I can't recall any common failure points on them off the top of my head.
