STIHL saw

Fixing to buy a new chainsaw. I'm looking at STIHL ms261 cm or a ms311. What are pros and cons for those two saws. I'm going to be using mainly for firewood

I have a 261 & love it. Starts easy & light. Great saw for firewood. You'll like it.

The 261 is a pro saw, the 311 is a farm/ranch class saw. The 261 will cost you more, the 311's have been on backorder for some time at our dealership. We have a dealer meeting Tuesday and perhaps they will have an ETA.

261 is overall a better made saw than a 311 for a variety of reasons.

The 261 will make a great firewood saw. It cost a little more but will be lighter and is a pro built saw.

It's a great saw and well worth the price of admission.

I like my new 261cm a lot.

There's lots of saws I'd like to own, but the 311 wouldn't be high on the list.

Bought mine 5 years ago!!! Still runs strong. Its my saw to go. Looking now to buy the new 2016 model or MS261 VII with the M-tronic.

Will I just me a ms261c. I played with for a minute or to better half got home. Boy does it cut good. Now it's time to go cut some hickory down for this year firewood.

It the newer one. The power head weighs just a tad over 10#

I have gotten about 5 tanks of fuel the ms261 now and put a 26rs74 chain on her and boy does she cut
