Thanks for the tip. Another good one for once I am on the site. I've done the "home made mallet" from the sapling, but this is great for those stupid Y's.

That's intentional, makes it easier to read while working. Once the lettering is worn off it doesnt matter, you know what kind your saw is by heart.

My grandpa said they used to make wedges out of ironwood. I made one last winter and it seemed to hold up pretty well! Cool thread!

I was about to go get some plastic ones to have around...not anymore! I'm heading to the pile tonight to make some wedges.
