Yeah, it's supposed to be a salmon but I had my doubts it would be obvious enough.
The wood is beech, so I suppose it could be a beached whale as well,lol!

Very nice. Giving me some ideas to try . That is what is called relief carving ??? I tried it awhile back but it didn't turn out so good.
I would call it haute relief.

I enjoy creating them more than anything else. If someone wants them when I'm done, I have no problem trading them for cash, or giving them as gifts to family and friends.
Most times I just carve what I feel like carving and when I finish it, I just set it aside under cover until the right person or occasion comes along.
After being diagnosed with cancer a few years ago, this became a way for me to occupy my time and mind more than a business opportunity, but the occasional sales usually get dumped right back into materials and equipment so I can keep on doing what I enjoy.
