I just tested the water in my CB 6048 and the Ph is fine but the nitrates are wrong. The additive the dealer sells seems expensive, so I was wondering if any of you know of a good substitute?

Not as far as I know...My CB dealer sells the treatment for $38/gal, treats up to 200 gal. of water, which is enough for my 5036, but you need 2 gal. for a 6048, right? I ran that by my guy who does the water treatment on the cooling towers where I work, could not substitute anything for that price.

if you use the test kit that came with CB and you keep the kit outside with the boiler in the elements check your permaginate it could be weak.
