Welder, Welding questions for log splitter, need your input

Is 250 Amps enough current for a welder to build a splitter with.

I think Im going to buy a used Lincoln SA200, and that is the highest amp rating it has


I want a portable welder, is there anything else I should keep in mind before I make a purchase
 
For what your doing and learning 250 should be plenty when looking for a unit make sure it has both AC and DC current so you can do various types of welding. Don't expect to find a used SA200 easy or cheap since no one really wants to part with them unless they are near scrap.

Check here for decent prices on new welders, I was personally looking at a ranger 225 GXT

Yes, 250 amps is plenty, didn't you just post this question, did you read any of the responses:)
