I haven't been around for a while, but today I was doing something that I though some members would enjoy hearing about; first one to describe the tools and what I'm doing gets to explain it to the rest

you are rebuilding bicycles now? cool.

You have more crescent wrenches than wrenches I think. If you just set each crescent wrench to a standard size and then glue the worm gear in you could complete your wrench set. You have everything you need. It would be silly NOT to do it.

Also, that hacksaw is rusty. You should oil it

You are prepairing to go all kinds of Bob Ross on an antique in time to sell your wares at the local arts festival, people loves the irony of the perspective forcing huge foreground tree painted on saw blades. Big money, big big big money, hide a witch in the woods and it will sell to east coast hippies as well. Topless witch if you want huge dollors.

Looks like you have the saw clamped in a saw vise, with a saw jointer on it, getting ready to "joint" or reset all the teeth to the proper overall curvature from end to end. On second look, it looks more like a filing guide for sharpening the cutters. Do you have a saw hammer, and a setting anvil? I can't see those in the pic, nor can I see your file. Will you be using a cantsaw file? or do you have the great american crosscut? I have the whole Simonds file catalog on my computer, a wealth of info. Someone has to keep the real old school saws going. I have 2 one man saws, a 54" Craftsman, and a 48" (don't know the mfg, can't find any markings on it), and a 66' 2 man that I think was used as a topping saw, since it has a single western style handle on it, and probably the best cutting saw of the 3 I have.

'Zat a Morin raker gauge? Looks like one. The saw: Champion pattern, but what make? Looks like maybe a Simonds Economy. Looks like you're putting together a decent filing station. I've found about the same stuff you have.

Here's a fast saw and I'm sure they know how to use them tools , might even be as fast as a wildthing .
