i have gotten a dremel for x-mas and the grinding stones that came with it suck, they flew apart on the first use, any one have a favorite that stay together?
what's the best grinding stone to use for porting?

You need a double-cut carbide bur, 1/8" shank. I only use a stone for beveling the port edge.

You not using these anymore?
No. Once I got a carbide bur, there's no looking back. I'm still using the first one and have worked on several saws with it. Still like new.

These guys sell lots of neat stuff. I like the sanding drums, works good for finishing the intake when you dont' want it too smooth, also good for fine work, to get it to the last little bit.

Carbide burrs, and you have to use lube with them or they will plug up with aluminum.
What I use is a cylinder with radius/round tip. Check out this THREAD. There a lot of good info in there. McMaster-Carr is probably your best resource. Do a search for "carbide burs".

If ya get the ones made for Aluminum they wont plug up.
Would harbor freight/northern tool. or Sears be a better place to secure some of thoes carbide burrs in 1/8 fo r a dremel?

Stones are almost useless on non ferrous metals, as they will clog the abrasive
