I got a chuckle out of this...

I'm reading "The Good Woodcutter's Guide" by Dave Johnson. He says; "Woods work should not be exciting. A good day in the woods is an uneventful day."

How true this is!

Additionally, though shall not drink, smoke, look at pretty women, and last but not least, though mustest live absorbed by fear and guilt.

Well, there's good excitment and bad excitement. And there's days when I'd rather be at the dentist. At least the non painful one in Oregon. But overall, it is interesting work, some real characters around here, and that makes up for the awful days. Like yesterday when I had watermelon leak onto my socks, put an empty coffee thermos in my lunch, then had the electrical stuff on my pickup shut down so I drove in to the office without sipping the ice tea or changing out of boots and it was hot. Whaaah.

But the hike up to the ridge now comes with a nice view because the trees are thinned.
