Stihl 064 AV Info

Just picked up a NICE 064 AV today. Can someone tell me what year it is? The 2nd owner said, he got it from his friend, and his friend has since passed away. The serial number is 1122 791 1000. Thanks! And is there anything I show check or know about? He gave me 2 extra coils, and said, the first owner gave it to him with the saw....

That's not the serial number.

The serial number is stamped in metal on the case near the front of the muffler, clutch side.

Thats not your serial number, its the part number from the rear handle. Serial number is on the top right, right next to the muffler.

The 064's are great saws. If you post a picture someone could help figure out if it's an early model or late.

Husky serials tell all kinds of info including manufacture date. Stihl serials don't do the same. You'll need someone with dealer software to help you out.

Early 064's had flatter gas caps like in this photo.

Later models used this kind, like on the 066.

Maybe it was a redlight edition and one of the coils he gave you is the limited one he took off. I don't know though. Just an idea.

I'd be happy to have the spares.

I'm not sure which, if any, 064's had the see through tank, that photo might be a 066 tank.

As far as the coils go, if you're saw has good spark and you don't need them, someone here would probably buy them from you.

If you bump this thread tomorrow a bit earlier, more folks will jump on board.
