this is a brand new 3120 sent to me from spike60(for all your husqvarna needs call bob ,he can get you what you need or just want really bad....this is an unpaid advertisement:laugh:). this is for a member in new jersey that has a firewood processing operation. he gets very large wood from tree removal and needed something to really get the job done. this will be a very mild saw built for torque with a long bar and many years of hard service in the firewood industry. Should easily be able to make a monster out of that one. Sure is pretty sitting on that bench there.

this saw came with the green limited coil. i have removed it and added the older 3120 model 12000 rpm coil and flywheel. there is no need for an unlimited coil on this saw becouse it will be tuned in the wood . it is a work saw and the only cookies it will ever cut are firewood length. for this build there will also be no timing advance done on the saw.

Ive heard about your work with Huskies Terry. Really looking forward to this thread and finally seeing your work. Thanks.

right now the pictures that i was going to post are on my phone. me and the phone are having a disagreement ,the dang phone is winning.

Im also looking forward to this thread. I cant get over how huge these saws are! They gotta be fun as hell to run!

hers a few more pics. nothing extreme on the intake ,exhaust or transfers. the intake was widened and blended then lowered to get a duration of 158 total ,the transfers were left stock duration and height and blended to the cylinder but not taken all the way out to the base. the exhaust was left at stock height also. on this build i did not cut the combustion chamber. i did the good ol pop up piston in order to keep the tranfer and exhaust timing stock after lowering the cylinder. so no need to raise them back up. this was done in order to only gain intake timing. in order to gain the power i wanted in this 3120 i only needed to add some fuel and compression becouse the transfer and exhaust timing were good. you dont always have to hog out the cylinder to make a hellofa good runner

now to make this carb adjustable

as you can see the carb now has the high speed screw in it and is fully adjustable. i make a new main nozzle for the carb and press it in place of the brass nozzle that comes in the carb in order to block off the un used fixed jet. the needles are now fully independent and adjustable.

Hey Terry, learn this from Cliff's carb?......I'm sure he'll be real proud of ya!

yes, as a matter of fact i did learn how the 3120 ''alkie'' carb should be done from Cliff. the alkie carb he did for me is top notch dead on perfect and lives on my 5 cube alkie saw. i take no credit for his carb genius and i give thanks for his help .

Turn off the automatic flash, then the picture quality should be better.

Good morning fellow members...has been quite some time since I have posted. Have very busy juggling business and elderly geriatric issues for forever it seems. Funny how this forum provides a nice escape mechanism at the end of the day:msp_smile: I will certainly be keeping track of this thread as well.

Would like to take this opportunity to extend (once again) my sincere thanks to spike60 for all his support. This is also my first time dealing with Terry and must say that a firm level of trust and confidence was established quickly after just a few phone calls. A gentleman of the highest order. So.......Terry- take your time....test it,,,,run it as it should be,,,,,and, by all means, send it back dirty!

Happy and SAFE cutting everyone!
